Jewellery Making with Porcelain Beads

A few weeks ago, I went to lovely Haliburton, Ontario for a one day wire jewellery course. It had been on my mind for some time to try working with wire and the beads that I am making with coloured porcelain clays that I make up.  Suffice it to say, I have been snared by the metal bug.

When I made these beads, I wasn’t sure what I was going to use them for but I knew it was going to be jewellery related. I found a great book at Chapters called “The Encyclopedia of Wire Jewelry Techniques” by Sara Withers which I found to be extremely helpful for a newby like me.
A while back I did do a couple of one day courses in metal clay and I liked it alright but wasn’t prepared to invest in a whole new round of materials and tools. When I took the one day wire jewellery course, I saw that I use fairly simple tools that I have in my tool room to continue to dabble in making jewellery as well as beads and pendants.
I would like to explore further courses in working with metal, so if you have any ideas to share please feel free to post feedback.
