    About Janson
    Pottery

Each piece of hand made Canadian pottery is created using traditional techniques by way of a potter’s wheel and hand rolled slabs. This ensures a human touch is brought to each piece. Each step of the creative process is performed by Janet from pottery mugs, pottery bowls, pottery plates, porcelain ring dishes, porcelain planters, etc. and she can ensure that all of the items that are created with an emphasis on detail and quality. Each piece is created from start to finish in her studio either through the throwing or hand building process  including creating glaze recipes, making each glaze and going through the firing process. It can take 4 to 8 weeks to complete a piece because of the firing process. A tightly packed kiln fires better and requires 5-8 hours of electricity which slowly rises until it reaches the mature temperature desired.
